Oprah Winfrey is in bed with polygamous men–cowardly politicians in Mohave County Arizona have voted to close the Colorado City Justice Center–and Warren Jeffs’ scum-bag lawyers are scratching and clawing to roll back every advancement made during the last decade to protect the women and children of polygamy.
And why should I be surprised? It’s a twisted world!
They say life goes in cycles and we are suddenly now back to the days immediately following that disastrous Arizona raid on Short Creek in the early 1950’s. Once again public sympathy seems to have shifted squarely to the side of Warren Jeffs’ FLDS faithful.
Of course we have Texas’s poorly-thought-out raid on the Yearning for Zion Ranch to blame for much of this shift. If cement-headed Texas cops had only reach out to more knowledgeable law officers and experts in Utah and Arizona, the embarrassing raid could have probably been avoid or at least handled differently. But Texas had to go it alone and it has played right into the hands of those who have become experts over the generations at creating a smokescreen of sympathy to hide their systematic exploitation of women and children. Oprah and company helped pump up that smokescreen on television the other night.
Well look who was appointed head of HOMELAND SECURITY! Janet Napolitano dodged this issue when she was Attorney General of Arizona. I remember it well, I recorded my calls with her appointee Leesa Morrison deputy state attorney. Maybe Janet wants to see this go away too! Incest, fumarace disease and child brides of age 12 OK in AMERICA? I wonder! I hear more stories of a good use of Piano Wire and those that speak it are not using AIG in the same breath! Americans are frustrated by the BOSTON TEA PARTY concept of TAXATION without representation and a revolution could occur here one day. The reversal of the Jeffs verdict would usher in more anger, piled on top of to much already.
I merely follow the pulse of America like you do, and tensions are rising. Its issues like this and more that will topple civilization as we know it. We will spend our way out of debt and abolish child brides and incest, by decriminalizing polygamy! Come on MIKE, doesn’t this all make sense to you?
