Many people remember a teacher who made an impact in their lives.
That one special teacher who helped them through a difficult subject, who made school a place they wanted to be and most importantly who helped them believe in their self. 3TV and Ace Air believe that those teachers deserve special recognition. We call it a Silver Apple award.

We are now accepting nominations for the 2009-2010 school year. The deadline to nominte your teacher for a Silver Apple Award is March 5, 2010 at 5 p.m. Nominations will be accepted that are postmarked March 5,2010. Anything postmarked after March 5, 2010 will not be accepted.
From October 2009 to May 2010, 3TV’s Patti Kirkpatrick and Ace Air will be delivering the Silver Apple Award and a $500 check to one special teacher each month. Make sure to tune in to Good Evening Arizona on 3TV from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to see if your teacher will be receiving a Silver Apple.

What is the Silver Apple Award?
In 1991, 3TV created the Silver Apple Award to recognize outstanding teachers who have made a difference in the lives of their students. Each year, hundreds of teachers are nominated from across the state of Arizona by thousands of students. Each entry is read and considered by our expert judging panel comprised of educators and community leaders. The judging panel then awards eight Arizona teachers the Silver Apple award along with $500 for use in their classroom.
This year, 3TV is excited to have Ace Air as our partner. Ace Air is a strong supporter of awarding those Arizona teachers who go above and beyond.
How do I nominate my teacher for the Silver Apple?
Any student enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade in an Arizona school may nominate their teacher. To nominate a teacher the student must complete the nomination form, have it signed by their school principal and then either mail or fax it back to 3TV by March 5, 2010 by 5 p.m.
How many Silver Apple Awards will be given out this school year?
Eight Silver Apple awards will be given out during the 2009-2010 school year. One Silver Apple will be given out each month from October 2009 through May 2010.
What does the Silver Apple teacher receive?
The Silver Apple teacher receives a Silver Apple and $500 for use in their classroom. They also receive a special visit from 3TV’s Patti Kirkpatrick and Ace Air and will be showcased in 3TV’s Good Evening Arizona program.
